Sportsmanship

The Forsyth County Broncos were established in 2002 with the primary mission to provide an experience of learning and fun to youths in our community through participation in football and cheerleading. As an organization, we have worked very hard to create an environment where your children will learn responsibility, good sportsmanship and teamwork, and skills of their sport. We operate by a code of conduct and will do everything in our power to ensure that players, parents, fans, coaches and board members adhere to the highest standards. The code of conduct can be found on our web site.

Likewise, the Broncos are members of the Northwest Midget Pop Warner Football League ("NWMPWFL"). Our relationship with each of these organizations is important. We aim to create friendships with these organizations. . We will only engage in friendly rivalry and will not promote ill will between organizations under any circumstances. We do not support negativity aimed at other organizations.

Conduct of Our Members

The Forsyth County Broncos operate 100% by volunteerism. We appreciate the time and commitment that each volunteer offers to the organization. As a member of Pop Warner, the national organization has specific rules of conduct for each volunteer & adult. We appreciate your willingness to take personal accountability for ensuring a positive experience for football players and cheerleaders (spirit participants). For more information on the national requirements, please consult http://www.popwarner.com

Some things to keep in mind during the normal operations of the season:

  1. Pop Warner organizations are expected to follow a specific chain of command for issue resolution and communication.  The process is described in the Problem Notification and Escalation Procedures.
  2. National Pop Warner has published a code of conduct for all parent/volunteers, coaches, and board members (Pop Warner Members Code of Conduct & Adult Code of Conduct)
  3. Pop Warner programs nationwide will be required to annually conduct a background check of  Coaches, Board of Directors members and any other persons, volunteers or hired workers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players and/or spirit participants.
  4. Pop Warner requests that all non-staff members remain a reasonable distance away (30 feet wherever possible) from teams during their practice time. Most Bronco coaches request that the parents position themselves out of direct vision of the team so as to allow for the players’ undivided attention during practice.

Conflict Resolution
As an organization, we have worked very hard to create an environment where your children will learn responsibility, good sportsmanship and teamwork, and skills of their sport. We operate by a code of conduct and will do everything in our power to ensure that players, parents, fans, coaches and board members adhere to the highest standards. (read more)
Concern regarding a player situation?

From time to time, issues will arise. There is a chain of command that we are required by Pop Warner to follow. The specific situation will dictate the appropriate course of action. This process is attached to the letter and can be found on our web site. Individuals, who are not able to uphold this standard, may be asked to leave the organization. We appreciate your respect for sportsmanship and procedures.

Problem Notification and Escalation Procedures
  1. If you have an issue during the course of participating in a team having to do with the welfare of your child,
    1. First, direct your concern to your head coach.
    2. If your head coach is unable to resolve the issue to your needs, the Football Director/League Rep and/or Cheer Director should be the next point of contact.
    3. If you do not feel as though the Football Director/League Rep and/or Cheer Director are handling the issue, the issue should be escalated to either the President or Vice President of the organization.
    4. If a parent does not feel that the organization is appropriately handling their issue, their next course of action is to contact a member of the ?downtown organization?, NWMPWFL. Their contact information can be found by following the links on our web site.
    5. Under no circumstances should a parent or coach go directly to the National organization without first following the proper order or ?chain of command? ? NWMPWFL, then Mid-South Region and so on, in that order
  2. If your concern relates to another organization, you should immediately notify your head coach and either the League Rep, Football Director or the Cheer Director (or one of their assistants).  The League Rep is responsible for working these issues with the NWMPWFL, other organizations, and keeping the Bronco Board of Directors apprised of the situation.

Concerns regarding the operations of the organization
If the issue relates to the overall running of the organization (such as fund raising, facilities, communications, etc), concerns should be address with a member of the Board of Directors.  Initially, we ask that you work with the director in charge of the area of responsibility.  If you wish to escalate the situation, you may direct your concern to any member of the executive committee.  (List of Board Membes/DIrectors)
